A warm welcome to The Albany School Business and Enterprise
College. It gives me particular pleasure to introduce some of the
many qualities which make our school highly regarded by parents,
pupils and the wider community.
We are extremely proud of The Albany School – its commitment to ‘Quality for All’ and
enviable ethos of ‘Academic Excellence and Care for Each Child’. Combined with a
highly talented and dedicated staff and traditional values, we know that The Albany
School deserves its outstanding reputation.
We were privileged to have achieved Specialist status in Business and Enterprise in
September 2003. In addition to the National Curriculum, pupils will benefit from new
opportunities, extended provision and innovative approaches to education supported by
close partnership with business and industry. So why come to the Albany? Students
benefit from small class-sizes, each Year Group has 8 forms of entry. Studies show that
students benefit from smaller class sizes. The school is friendly and students feel safe.
How do we know? Consistently over a period of time our annual Student Surveys have
shown that the vast majority of our students feel safe and secure at school.
We understand how important it is to parents to select the best secondary school for
their child. Experience shows that parents benefit most from seeing the School in
progress.
We welcome parents and their children to observe the School at work and they can
be afforded personal attention to discuss matters of transfer by arranging a visit with
the Assistant Headteacher in charge of Community Liaison.
